PG Paper has appointed Antalis as its strategic merchant partner for the exclusive UK & Ireland distribution partnership with JK Paper, an Indian paper mill that specialises in sustainable paper products.

At the forefront of the partnership, which was effective from Tuesday (23 April), is Ultima GC1, which is produced by JK Paper and distributed by Greenock, Scotland-headquartered paper merchant PG Paper.

The collaboration between PG Paper and Antalis aims to streamline the distribution of Ultima GC1 in the UK and Ireland, strengthening customer support and expediting how orders are fulfilled and delivered.

Ultima GC1 is an FSC-certified paperboard said to offer numerous benefits, such as high stiffness and a smooth top surface. Crafted with a high percentage of SBS pulp, Ultima GC1 features a double coating on the top side and a single coat on the reverse, “ensuring exceptional quality and performance”.

Lyndsey James-Williams, commercial director at PG Paper, said: “PG Paper has a strong and longstanding relationship with JK Paper, leveraging our deep knowledge and understanding of the Indian market. We are excited for customers to benefit from a high-quality product and excellent level of service.

"JK Paper’s sustainability goals and community efforts align perfectly with PG Paper’s values. Antalis, as a leading UK distributor of paper and packaging, is the ideal partner to successfully grow the UK board market with the introduction of Ultima GC1.”

Steve Chappell, graphical board development manager at Antalis, added; “Ultima GC1 offers excellent quality and performance at competitive prices, making it an ideal choice for a wide variety of applications such as premium packaging of personal care products and pharmaceuticals, greeting cards, book covers, tags and much more.

“The material delivers impressive results for various print and finishing processes, including digital print and cold foiling. Ultima GC1 is a reliable paperboard that can enhance a product’s presentation while helping towards sustainable development goals.”

Antalis’ offering includes next-day delivery for bulk or packet-wrapped Ultima GC1 in popular weights and sizes.

Separately, PG Paper has been named among the 2024 winners of the Department for Business and Trade’s (DBT) Made in the UK, Sold to the World Awards.

Now in their second year, the awards celebrate the international sales success of small to medium-sized businesses across the UK.
