Envelopes and mailing bags: Mayer Group closes printing plant in Belgium
13 May 2022
The Mayer Group is closing its De Vroede Enveloppen printing plant in Belgium in the middle of the year. This is the company's response to the persistently difficult and declining market environment in the envelope sector as part of its ongoing realignment and consolidation measures.
Existing customers will continue to be served by the Mayer Group from neighbouring countries. Approximately 20 employees will be affected by the closure. The management has worked out a fair and socially acceptable solution for all affected employees in cooperation with the trade unions, according to a statement from Heilbronn.
The printing company De Vroede Enveloppen was founded in Belgium in 2002 and specialises in the production and subsequent printing of envelopes and mailing bags. Since 2012, de Vroede has been part of the Mayer Group based in Heilbronn. The group employs around 1,700 people across Europe, of which around 500 are in Germany.
